Packhouse General Staff

Role Overview:

Packhouse General Staff support post-harvest operations by sorting, grading, packing, and preparing produce for shipment. This role plays a key part in maintaining product quality, food safety, and efficient order fulfillment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort, grade, and pack produce according to quality standards and customer specifications

• Assemble cartons, clamshells, and packaging materials accurately

• Label, weigh, and palletize finished product

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and packhouse areas

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and quality control procedures at all times

• Assist with receiving, staging, or loading product as needed

• Report quality issues, equipment problems, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly

Qualifications & Skills:

• Prior packhouse, warehouse, or production experience preferred but not required; training provided

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with speed and accuracy

• Comfortable working in cool or temperature-controlled environments

• Ability to work in a fast-paced production setting

• Team-oriented with strong attention to detail and reliability

Physical Demands:

 

• Stand and walk for extended periods

• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive motions

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds, with or without assistance

• Work at heights using approved platforms or lifts

• Work in warm, humid greenhouse conditions
