Greenhouse General Staff

Role Overview:

Greenhouse General Staff support day-to-day crop production activities inside the greenhouse. This role involves hands-on plant care, harvesting, sanitation, and general labor tasks that ensure healthy crops, safe working conditions, and efficient greenhouse operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine crop tasks including planting, pruning, trellising, lowering, and leaf removal

• Harvest produce according to quality, food safety, and handling standards

• Assist with general crop maintenance such as cleaning aisles, removing plant waste, and organizing work areas

• Follow greenhouse hygiene, biosecurity, and food safety protocols at all times

• Safely operate basic tools and equipment such as carts, harvest tools, and approved lifts or platforms

• Identify and report crop issues, pests, diseases, or equipment concerns to supervisors promptly

• Support other greenhouse teams as needed to meet daily production and operational goals

Qualifications & Skills:

• Prior greenhouse or agricultural experience preferred but not required; training provided

• Ability to perform physical labor and repetitive tasks

• Comfortable working in warm, humid greenhouse environments

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety

Physical Demands:

 

• Stand and walk for extended periods

• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive motions

• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds, with or without assistance

• Work at heights using approved platforms or lifts

• Work in warm, humid greenhouse conditions
